Ferrosilicon 72 (ferrosilicon 75B) is a soft 75 ferrosilicon with a carbon content between 0.01~0.04%. When producing ferrosilicon 72, silica (SiO2 content ≥97%) and coke are first smelted in a submerged arc furnace, and ferrosilicon is generated through a reduction reaction. In this process, coke is the reducing agent and silica is the raw material. The silicon content of the ferrosilicon obtained by smelting is about 72%, which is low carbon ferrosilicon.
